Implications of Current Legislation: The Regulatory Reform Order 2005
stated that, "The responsible person (i.e. the employer) must ensure that his employees are provided with adequate safety training at the time when they are first employed." Furthermore, the Fire Precautions (Workplace) Regulations
state that employers must ensure that one or more employees are appointed
to assist in ensuring compliance with fire regulations (e.g. a fire marshall).
For more information please refer to Fire Safety Legislation.
